Library Services staff members have recently obtained new label printing technology to assist with cataloging and interlibrary loan services.
One Dymo LabelWriter 450 was purchased to streamline the process of printing shipping labels for borrowed and lent materials. In addition, two LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbos were purchased to accommodate the different sized labels (spine and card) used in cataloging. The new labelwriters can import shipping or cataloging information and then print, on demand, directly onto an adhesive label. Before acquiring the LabelWriters, Library Services staff used label templates and Microsoft Word for their labels. Furthermore, both styles of labelwriters are able to fit a variety of label sizes, which provides library staff the ability to be flexible in the evolution and improvement of their processes over time.
