Introducing Scopus

October 13, 2008

The Graff Library has added a new databases, Scopus, to its collection. Scopus is a database that indexes articles, authoritative web sites, and patents in the life, health, physical, and social sciences. Coverage is from 1996-present.

In addition to keyword and subject searching, Scopus provides powerful author and author affiliation searching options. Each article entry includes the list of references and “Cited By” entries so that users can identify more recent articles that cite the selected article.

The database is similar to Web of Science (Science Citation Index) but Scopus covers more subject areas and more journals.

To access Scopus, visit the Library’s web site, select Biomedical Databases, then Scopus. Online tutorials are available for the most common and useful features.
